Christian Montenegro

I really love these unique characters created by illustrator Christian Montenegro. I was really impressed with how he has taken recognised stereotypes and transformed them by applying his very distinguishable style. Each character doesn't even need the sentence below it as the images communicate instantly and effectively alone. Also the colour palette used and applied through screen printing and hand painting is highly successful and obviously integral to the imagery.

Mark Jenkins

I really like these sculptural pieces by American artist Mark Jenkins because they are so unique and individual. These animals figures crafted from clear plastics to me communicate simple emotions or feelings, eg the dog- inquisitive and the horses- freedom.

Christian Montenegro

Argentine illustrator Christian Montenegro is one of my favourite designers because of his unique style. The characters above depict the seven deadly sins and have been created through screen printing and hand painting. The colours and composition are carefully considered and as a result clearly communicate a message to the audience. The very first image depicts an oriental landscape produced in the same style though with elegant lines, patterns and colour work.

Jamie Cullen

I really like the way Jamie Cullen communicates a message through clear and concise imagery. I particularly like the top image of the eyes in the darkness of the cinema mainly because of it pure simplicity.

British Museum: Day Of The Dead, Mexican Festival

These photographs were taken at the British Museum where a special Mexican Festival honouring the dead was being celebrated. It is tradition for people to make paper mache skeletons and examples of these are shown above. They are beautifully crafted and have got a great character and personality about them whilst their lively form and composition combined with vivid colour make them entertaining to look at.
